Rideau Lakes Figure Skating Club
WELCOME (AND WELCOME BACK!) 10/13/2011
Welcome to our new skaters! RLFSC is thrilled to have you with us and we look forward to helping you achieve all of your skating goals for the year and having a lot of fun along the way. Please don’t hesitate to contact any member of the club executive if you have any questions or suggestions for us. We have plenty of activities planned for the season so please watch for our newsletter as it will contain dates and other details for upcoming events. For our returning skaters, welcome back. We hope you have all had a terrific summer and are feeling refreshed and eager to continue honing your skills on the ice. Your executive as well has some familiar faces as well as some new ones. They are all looking forward to providing our skaters with the best experience possible and will work hard to that end. Halloween is fast approaching and as in past years RLFSC will be celebrating with some special activities as the date approaches. On Tuesday the 25th of October and again on Sunday the 30th of October the skaters are all invited to dress up in a costume (safe to skate in please!) and prizes will be awarded for the best costume in the Pre-CanSkate, CanSkate, and Advanced CanSkate levels. We have set Tuesday the 20th of December as our Christmas Skate where family members are invited to come out and skate with us. More details will come in following newsletters. A large number of personal items have been left behind after skating, particularly in the change rooms. Skaters please look around for personal belongings such as skate guards before leaving the arena. We’ve all been enjoying the unusually warm fall weather, but don’t be fooled…the season is well under way. Carnival will be here before you know it. It’s time to appoint a Carnival Committee and get a theme picked out. We are looking for a few volunteers who would be willing to help us make sure this year’s carnival is the best one yet! While we are putting together the Committee we would like skaters and their parents to give us some suggestions for a theme for this year. Add Comment Post Title. 09/16/2011
